“One metric that is used to measure safety culture is the Safety Leadership Index. To improve these scores and sentiment, Delaney created a requirement for her bottom-performing SLI sites to complete SLI action plans with details of actions to be taken to improve the overall safety culture at the site within a 30-day period. These action plan reviews were accomplished through regular phone reviews, site interaction and diligent follow-up with her business units. By the end of 2022, two-thirds of Delaney’s business units were performing at or above the network SLI-A goal metric.”
